The Proposal Manager is crucial to winning meaningful work for the talented Architects and designers who ing Steinberg’s projects in Los Angeles to life. This is a diverse hands-on position that requires initiative, and critical thinking. We seek a seasoned proposal expert that is dedicated, savvy, and tireless. This position balances daily systems and organizational tasks with complex deadline-driven projects all with this goal in mind: Develop a sales approach, taking direction from LA principals, that far outpaces our competition. Position Requirements.
<>
Education: Relevant 4 year degree (i.e., English, Journalism, Marketing, Liberal Arts)
<>
Experience: minimum 5 years in a relevant position. This is a writing intensive job, and requires strong editing, proofreading, spelling, and grammatical skills; and eye for detail, excellent time management and organizational skills. Experience in the A/E industry, preferably Architecture is highly desirable.
<>
Computer skills: Minimum, fluency with Adobe Creative Suite: InDesign (advanced understanding of document management a big plus), Photoshop, Illustrator, MS Office and database programs. Knowledge of Deltek Vision, or other CRM database preferred.

Description of Duties:

Proposals–respond to RFQ/RFPs, working with Project Managers, Business Development Manager, and Principals to produce submittals, including: writing, editing, and procuring content; layout and flowing of content into InDesign; and taking full responsibility for the production, printing, binding and shipping of the proposal.

Interview Support—Prepping teams by arming principals and design staff with information, inspiration, presentation tools, and structure so they can do their best while making it look easy. Collaborate with in-house graphic designers for presentations.

Lead research and tracking—Routinely check all available lead sources to ensure the soonest possible awareness of opportunities. Do any research necessary.
<>

20% Other Marketing Duties as assigned / necessary
<>
Update project and graphic databases—Work closely with design teams to make sure the latest imagery and project information is available company-wide.
<>
<>
Media Relations, Events, and Award submissions—Support the Los Angeles office Media Relations effort in pitching stories and publications, connecting with key media outlets, developing newsworthy releases that get into print, and above all, follow-up. Organize events for maximum visibility and help our projects win the awards they deserve.

Photography Support—Coordinate with client and consultant teams to share costs for photography. Work with the graphic design lead to make sure LA office photography priorities are understood and executed on time and on budget.

Company Intranet—Provide content. Constantly update calendars and task lists. Share knowledge and collaborate with teams in other offices, graphic designers and other marketing staff.
